(12PressRelease.com) Opens admissions for B.Sc Optometry courses for 2010-11
Bangalore, September 13, 2010: Sankara Eye Hospital, among India‘s leading eye care institutes has set up ´Sankara College of Optometry‘ and announced the opening of admissions for a full time 4 year B.SC Optometry programme, for the academic year 2010-11. The college is providing education and training in optometric science, a niche and emerging specialization in healthcare and medicine. Students who have completed their 12th grade or II PUC with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Maths as their core subjects are eligible for the course, which includes a 1 year internship at the Sankare Eye Hospital. The intake per batch will be limited to 20 students and the first batch will commence from 16th October 2010.
The college has state of the art infrastructure with labs for Optics, Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry, classrooms with audiovisual facilities, library with internet access, specialty clinics in Occularistry, Low vision, Vision Therapy, Paediatric Optometry, Sports Vision and Contact Lenses, besides providing exposure to Optical & Fitting of prescription lenses. It is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Karnataka as well as national and International organizations like ASCO (Association of Schools & Colleges of Optometry), WCO (World Council of Optometry) and IACLE (International Association of Contact Lens Educators).
