Prior to signing with ZCorum, CMS had limited visibility into their network and liked what they saw during demonstrations of the diagnostics tools. They also participated in a free trial of PreEqualization Analyzer and were impressed with the results. As part of the suite, CMS will be utilizing TruVizion , ZCorum’s flagship application that provides advanced diagnostics for DOCSIS, DSL or fiber networks, including live modem data, historical readings as well as interactive mapping. The license incudes access to TechVizion, a companion mobile app used by technicians to help them troubleshoot issues and verify signal levels while in the field.

In addition they will have access to PreEqualization Analyzer , ZCorum’s proactive network maintenance (PNM) tool for DOCSIS networks. The software-based tool makes use of the pre-equalization data coming from cable modems in order to identify the severity and approximate location of upstream impairments in the cable plant.

Working together with PreEqualization Analyzer will be ZCorum’s Upstream Analyzer , a fully featured software-based spectrum analyzer for the return path that displays spectrum from a CMTS in real time. The tool displays with 100% accuracy the noise floor, specific modem signals and ingress under the DOCSIS carrier as it is happening.

The software collects diagnostics information from the CMTS and end-point devices allowing ViaSat staff to more effectively troubleshoot individual subscriber issues and problems in the cable plant. ViaSat’s field technicians will also have access to TechVizion , the companion mobile app for TruVizion. The app gives field personnel the same performance metrics on their mobile device, such as the location of the CPE, historical performance data , modem comparisons, and overall statistics of the devices connected to the CMTS.

ZCorum will exhibit four diagnostics tools developed for broadband operators, including TruVizion, the patented platform for Cable, DSL, FTTH technologies that provides real time and historical data to help manage broadband networks.

PreEqualization Analyzer , Proactive Network Maintenance (PNM) software used to find and fix upstream impairments, will be shown. The tool uses pre-equalization data to proactively identify the location and severity of impairments.

Upstream Analyzer is a software tool for viewing the return path spectrum directly from the CMTS, and replaces the costly head-end equipment normally used to monitor and troubleshoot upstream issues in the plant.

For downstream spectrum analysis, Remote Spectrum leverages the latest chipsets in cable modems and set-top boxes that capture the full spectrum passing through the device. The tool analyzes all video and data channels passing through a cable modem or set-top box right on a PC or mobile device.
