This sponsorship of the Da Bruno Restaurants is one of a range of sponsorships, including charity, which the restaurant group do in order to give back to the local community.

The young athlete Enrique Cortes, sponsored by the Da Bruno Marbella restaurants group, won his silver medal at the World Championship Universal Trench, which was played on the last weekend of July 2010, at Anienne Valley, Rome, Italy.

The 16 year old Marbellan, Enrique Cortes, under the sponsorship of Da Bruno since last April, has enjoyed a significant improvement in his performance. In the last competition of this kind he finished in sixth place.

The young shooter, who was leading throughout the competition, achieved a successful brand of 190 plates (200.) However, in the final, the Frenchman Thomas Ward took the lead and with only one dish on the scoreboard became the winner of the World Championship.

As for the team results, Cortez contributed to their excellent results by the silver he won; the Spanish team were beaten by the hosts, Italy, but came out ahead of Great Britain.

In just two years competing at the highest level, Enrique Cortes has won the gold medal of the national team junior skeet shooting, is runner-up individually and European Junior Champion of Spain. All of this has been achieved during the last season 2009. For all these achievements he has been recognised as an elite athlete at national and regional level, also appearing in the Official State Bulletin (BOE).

In the upcoming International competitions, the shooter will be at two national meetings, which will be held in Toledo and Badajoz next month and another to be held in Malaga in September.

Following the recent success of the young Italian Restaurants Marbella, Marbella Town Hall has also sought to distinguish the sports career of his father, Miguel Cortés, 44, who is sponsored by Da Bruno Restaurants also, who has an extensive track record both universal in the Olympic category.

Miguel Cortes is a regular member of the national shooting team, ranking fifth in the Spanish Federation and ranking first in the Andalusian. His latest triumph has been the recent category sub-league of Spain, held in the High Performance Centre Juan Carlos I of Granada with a score of 198 hits in 200 attempts, which must be added to the victory of absolute national champion in 2007 and 2008.

Thus, the Mayor of the town, Ángeles Muñoz, has delivered a plaque in recognition of the careers of two local athletes who have reaped, and will continue to reap numerous successes in coming years, taking the name of Marbella to the top of the sport.

Alongside them, the Consistory has also recognized the trajectory of local pigeon shooter Eduardo Bedoya, San Pedro Athletic Club and two of its members, Javier Diaz, Loli Garre.
