Bangalore, January 12, 2010: HealthCare Global Enterprises Ltd. (HCG), south Asia‘s largest cancer care network, has done what doctors at Developed Countries could not. The patient who was given only a few months survival chance at hospitals there came to HCG and specialists here found an answer to his ailment and have now treated him successfully.
Dick Gadella, a native of Holland, living in Kenya was diagnosed with multi organ cancer. Naturally Gadella went to one of the biggest cancer hospitals in Holland for treatment. After radiation treatment, the doctors in that hospital had a simple message for Gadella “Go back to your home and enjoy your last 3 6 months of your lifeâ€.
Depressed with the development, Gadella visited his doctor friend in Kenya and conveyed him the message doctors at the Holland hospital had told him. Even while giving him hope, the doctor friend advised him to seek expert opinion from HCG in India. Following this, Gadella‘s daughter in Holland established contact with HCG and they brought him to Bangalore for treatment.
On studying Gadella‘s report and also after examining him, Dr. Ajaikumar B.S, Chairman and Radiation Oncologist, HCG advised Cyberknife a non invasive Robotic Radiosurgery. According to Gadella, “The result is more than great; my family is still in shock about the condition of me and it looks we all are waking up from a very bad dreamâ€.
Commenting on the Gadella case, Dr Ajaikumar said, “It was satisfying to put our expertise to test especially when doctors from developed countries had given the patient a few months survival chance. This case study gives us the confidence that we could handle more complicated cases from around the world and make our vision of ´living with cancer‘ a reality.â€
