MUMBAI, India Jan. 23, 2010 The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) India, working in association with the Indian Institute of Gems and Jewellery, Jaipur (IIGJ), has announced plans to offer GIA‘s Accredited Jewelry Professional (A.J.P.) diploma course in Jaipur from Feb. 1 5.
The A.J.P. diploma programme is designed to empower the entire sales team, including supervisors. The course content includes an in-depth study of diamonds, coloured stones and jewellery. The result is that the A.J.P. graduate acquires the critical product knowledge his or her customers expect from their trusted jewellers. In addition, the A.J.P. covers the jewellery sales process so graduates will be able to sell jewellery with knowledge and confidence.
Nirupa Bhatt, managing director, GIA India/Mideast Region, said, “Our vision is to make GIA‘s Diamond and Coloured Stone classes available to important gemstone cutting and trading centres such as Jaipur. GIA India plans to reach across 15 cities in the country in 2010.â€
