Website serving as download platform for both Firefox and Opera web browsers, has been launched by eighteen year old Swedish web designer and entrepreneur Andreas Wilhelmsson. He is the founder and owner of Voonix. Andreas works with Joomla and is constantly pushing the application development of this open source web tool forward.
Objective besides serving as browser download website is to target and attract a large audience worldwide, around the widely discussed subject of which web browser to use. For that purpose FirefoxOpera.com is equipped with a web browser discussion forum. There is also an onsite poll where visitors can vote for their favorite browser.
Research, site copy and search engine optimization was performed by ToJo Marketing Consulting which is a cooperative partner of Voonix. In less than three weeks after launch the website is competing with the major browser-download websites for search engine positions.
Already at this early stage the firefoxopera-site is battling over position one on Google with my.opera.com and opera.com for the search term “get the new Operaâ€. The web browser forum added to the site on July 17 is now found in position five on Google for the search term “browser forumâ€. Now FirefoxOpera can be found at top-10 positions for search terms like “download the new Firefox†and many more.
The final goal with our firefoxopera-project is top ranking on Google for several relevant keywords, receive at least 15000 unique visitors per month.
