Located in close proximity to Sloane Street - home to stores from some of the world's most recognised fashion houses - and the delightful Sloane Square, Pimlico Road is more popular with creative types thanks to the massive amount of art galleries situated on it.
The shops located on Pimlico Road also focus heavily on interior design - keeping in line with an artsy theme. Poggenpohl Ultimate Kitchens with its amazingly modern kitchens and appliances is well worth a visit, whilst Joanna Wood offers a variety of home ware sourced from all over the globe.
Whilst it does boast some fantastic shops, as previously touched upon, and some truly exquisite restaurants, such as Daylesford Organic and The Orange, the galleries and antique stores situated on Pimlico Road are what set it apart from the streets located in neighbouring districts of Belgravia and Chelsea.
Many locals are likely to have a significant knowledge of each of the galleries; however, tourists probably won't be anywhere near as aware and, as such, may wonder which particular galleries are worth visiting the most.
Therefore we've created a short guide detailing which Pimlico Road galleries should feature at the top of a tourist's list:
Gauntlett Gallery: In a world that moves at such a hectic speed we don't always get the opportunity to appreciate the great craftsmanship and design work of our time. This wonderful gallery, however, enables people to look at and appreciate some of the finest art, furniture, sculptures, textiles and ceramics of the last hundred years.
Although relatively small, the size of the Gauntlett Gallery shouldn't fool you. The collection of items on display is pretty extensive and visitors are sure to find something that'll catch there eye. On a typical visit to this Pimlico Road gallery you can expect to see posters, paintings dating back over half a century, as well as art deco furniture.
An opportunity to visit this terrific gallery should not be missed.
Mark Ransom: A gallery that is now entering its third decade, Ransom specialises in displaying contemporary art. There are two separate galleries located on Pimlico Road, both of which are the home of a number of original pieces from pop art visionary Andy Warhol and British abstract painter Tim Woolcock.
Open from Monday to Saturday, visitors can expect to get a glimpse of Warhol's 1980 piece Albert Einstein, as well as wonderful pieces of decorative art when they visit Ransom.
Julian Simon Fine Art: Julian Simon Fine Art is a gallery that specialises specifically in the paintings created by British and French artists during the nineteenth century. Visitors can expect to see some early twentieth century pieces but there isn't a huge amount amongst its extensive collection.
The works on display at this Pimlico Road gallery range from the sparse Grasses by John Banting to the highly detailed A Middle Eastern Street Scene oil painting by Paul Vernon. Julian Simon Fine Art also hosts new exhibitions on a regular basis, meaning that there is always something new waiting to be discovered within its walls.

Pimlico Road is home to many fine art galleries. This article provides information on just three of them.
